Project On Digital Ticketing System Samples â⬠MyAssignmenthelp.com
Question: Discuss about the Project On Digital Ticketing System. Answer: Introduction This assessment aims at designing a learning schedule for the team working the project on digital ticketing system in Riverina Agriculture and Lifestyle (RALS). The schedule helps in planning activities and roles for all group members when they work outside the meeting schedule. The paper also contains a communication plan for the group during the entire period of the project. The communication plan highlights the methods that will be used to relay information among members of the group and other stakeholders in the project. The final section of the paper is a reflection of the team during the undertaking of the project. Ideas by team members Action plan for the future Securing the system from fraud by manipulation. The digital ticketing system should have security features that will prevent it from breaking down from time to time. The system will be made secure by designing complex software to detect and block any security threat to the ticketing system. The servers to the system will also be located at a central secure point where there are no disruptions Use of serial numbers in the digital tickets so as to make the tickets more authentic In order to improve the authenticity of the tickets issued using the system, its important that the system allocates unique serial numbers for each ticket issued and this would prevent the use of fake tickets. Use of smart card based system The smart card will be used to store data on the tickets issued. The two tickets inserted on a reader will do all the calculations required and transfer the data to the servers safely. Power backup It is important that the ticketing system is connected to a standby source of power so as operations cannot stall as a result of a power outrage. User friendliness The ticketing system being designed should be easy to use. Every customer should be able to operate the machine with ease and to understand the contents of the receipt without struggling. Assumptions The tickets to be issued are not transferable All the materials will be procured through the resource manager The ticketing system will be smart card based Questions arising What are the risk factors facing the project? What are the resources required for the project? To what extent is each member of the project team contributing to development of the system? Which resource needs and procurement needs are required in order to develop the system successfully? What are the costs that will be incurred to develop the system successfully? There are eight stakeholders to be involved in this project. Each of the eight stakeholders plays a unique role in the company or in development of this system. It is therefore important to ensure that all stakeholders understand the goals and objectives of the project as well as the working of the system being developed (Callahan, Stetz Brooks, 2011). The following are the stakeholders involved in this project: management of the company, Employees, suppliers of the project materials, customers of RALS. This can only be achieved through effective and timely communication to all the stakeholders. The following is the communication plan that will be used to communicate with stakeholders of RAL and those involved in this project. Stakeholder Method of communication Frequency of communication Management Face to face informal meeting Writing of progress reports Daily face to face meetings Weakly progress reports Employees Internal memos Before the beginning of the project. After completion of the project. Suppliers of materials required to develop the system. Use order papers to place orders. Mobile phone communication Payment vouchers First week of commencing the project. During payment of goods delivered. Any time that need for additional materials arises. Customers Notices on the companies premises At the end of the project Project team Project team meeting Daily Team manager Weekly face to face meetings Emails Weakly Other Outside groups Notices As to be determined by team members. Resource manager Face to face meetings Weakly The communication methods chosen to communicate with each of the stakeholders identified above are very effective. The method is chosen depending on the role played by each of the stakeholders in the project. The major stakeholders in this project are the team managers and the management of the company. Face to face meetings are important for this group of stakeholders since it is necessary to explain and illustrate points physically concerning the project. The information communicated to these stakeholders includes the progress of the project, the challenges faced during implementation of the project (Pitagorsky, 2007). Any requirements for the project may be communicated during these meetings. The frequency of communication depends on the role played by the stakeholder and the impact that the project has on the stakeholder. Employees of the company should be informed of changes in the ticketing system so that they can be prepared for the change. All other stakeholders that will be affected by the project are informed of the changes using the most convenient methods. My involvement in this project as resource manager has provided myself and other team members invaluable experience on the important role of leadership in undertaking a project successfully (Australia Blanton, 2015). Before undertaking this project, I didnt give a lot of weight on leadership inproject management and precisely resource management. However, I have come to appreciate the need of having good and committed leader in the project team in order to ensure that all the factors and roles involved in the project are coordinated properly. Team leaders also are important in assigning roles to team members and supervising to ensure everyone is able to play their part fully (Kloppenborg, 2015). The resource manager is expected to ensure that all the resource needed by the team are available on time. They are also in charge of the procurement.A leader also is a source of motivation to team members when their morale is low. The other importance of leadership that I witnessed as a res ource manager in the team is the great role that leaders play in solving problems when they arise (Chemuturi Cagley, 2010). An IT resource manager must be very skillful and full of knowledge concerning the IT systems and must have a deep understanding of the software programming. This is because, this is a very important component of any IT system and it determines the working of the whole process. In addition to these, the resource manager must have knowledge about the hardware components of the project being undertaken. Since any successful IT project is a combination of both hardware and software components. The resource manager needs to have a deep knowledge in hardware and software components needed in the project since they are in charge of the procurement process. The resource manager should have knowledge on accounting processes and book keeping since they have to account for all the resource used during the project. Conclusion The learning schedule prepared for this project is prepared to help track the progress of the project, the challenges faced and the ideas generated by team members. The schedule also discusses the questions raised by team members during the project implementation. The communication plan prepared identifies the stakeholders for the project and outlines the communication methods to be used communicate to each set of stakeholders. The frequency of communication for each set of stakeholders is also determined depending on their role in this project. References Australia, C. L., Blanton, S. (2015). The Roles of Customers and Their Behaviour During Service Interactions
Introduction Customers react differently to various products and services within the market. This is influenced by their cultural backgrounds and their understanding of how a particular product works. It is important for firms to understand consumer behaviour and how it affects their consumption trends regarding a particular service or product.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The Roles of Customers and Their Behaviour During Service Interactions specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The service sector has become more complex and competitive and this has made the focus more directed toward meeting the needs of consumers. Firms have realised the importance of ensuring that the services they offer provide value to their customers. It is important for business enterprises to understand ways in which they can influence the behaviour and attitudes of their consumers toward their services in a positive manner. Customers and their behaviours have a huge role to play during service interactions. Customer Behaviour and Perceptions Lovelock, Patterson and Wirtz (2010, p. 44) argue that the user experience of a service has an effect on the behaviour of that customer within the market place where the service is provided. Several things have brought about changes within the service industry; for example, the relationships the employees of a firm have with the customers when they are providing the service, has a big impact on consumer behaviour. The initial impression created by an employee on a consumer when providing the service can influence negatively or positively, the customerââ¬â¢s perceptions. The way the service is delivered to the customer influences his or her perceptions regarding that particular product. A firm should ensure that the point where its service is offered is convenient for its customers and makes it easy for them to use it. The systems that are used for operating the service and de livering it to the customers should be efficient. These systems need to be suitable for the functions that they have been designed for to ensure that the customerââ¬â¢s experience of the service is pleasant. The systems should offer customers knowledge on how best to use the services that are being provided for their maximum satisfaction (Lovelock, Patterson Wirtz 2010, pp. 59-64). They should also be well equipped to deal with gaps in knowledge that exist within the clientele. Services that require technical know-how should be simplified to make it easy for the customers to access them. Firms should provide additional technical support to their customers on how they can use such services.Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Bowden (2009, pp. 65-69) argues th at customer service employees within a firm should be able to understand the way customers make decisions within that given market. Customers need to be given adequate information regarding how a service works and the needs it is likely to satisfy. They should also be made to understand how that particular service is better than the alternatives, which are offered by the firmââ¬â¢s competitors. This information can be crucial in helping a customer to reach a positive conclusion regarding a service and if it meets his or her expectations. Customers act well within an environment where the perceived risk that occurs after using a particular product is minimal. A firm should have effective ways of handling customerââ¬â¢s complaints because they have an impact on consumer behaviour and perceptions regarding a service. Since there can be inconsistencies in the way the service operates, customersââ¬â¢ feedback is important in evaluating how a service performs in the market. Genui ne complaints by a customer should be resolved to ensure that he or she feels positive about the service. This boosts brand loyalty and encourages consumers to make a particular product their preference. Customer satisfaction is vital in ensuring that the perceptions of a customer toward the service that he is using remain positive (Wells Foxall 2012, pp. 73-75). A customer is likely to cherish a service that allows him or her to solve his problems or satisfy his needs. The perceptions of customers regarding the quality of service that is offered should be carefully analysed by the management for the organisation to create strong relationships with its customers. The level of competition in the service sector has become cutthroat and this requires business firms to evaluate the quality of the service they offer to their clients. According to Khatibi, Thyagarajan and Ahmad (2002, p. 27), the quality of a service depends on its ability to satisfy clientsââ¬â¢ expectations. It also depends on the firmââ¬â¢s capacity to create an atmosphere that inspires confidence and trust among the customers. It is necessary for firms to evaluate the quality of the services they offer their clients to know whether they are on track or not. This evaluation can only be done through assessment of customersââ¬â¢ feedback and responses after they have used the service. Service products are intangible and firms cannot assess their quality and suitability in the market without engaging their customers. Customers can measure the attributes of a service more appropriately and can help a firm to understand whether it meets their desired standards.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The Roles of Customers and Their Behaviour During Service Interactions specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Customers are the targeted users of any service and they provide the necessary critical and diverse opinions regarding how a ser vice functions. For the customer feedback to be successful, firms should encourage their employees to improve their interactions with clients. Interaction with the customers helps the employees to understand the problems they are facing and how they can be resolved (Lin, Sher Shih 2005, p. 326). Employees must be trained to ensure that the quality of the services that are made available to the customers meets their expectations. Lovelock and Wirtz (2011, pp. 102-106) emphasise that the gap between what the customer expects and what he or she experiences while using the service should be narrowed. This is the only way through which a firmââ¬â¢s service can be able to meet the demands of its users. Customersââ¬â¢ opinions and feedback provide a good background through which a firm a can understand their preferences and behaviour. Firms can come up with concepts, which reflect the preferences of their customers to ensure that the service offered responds to their needs. The impr ovements to be made on a service can be obtained from the input customers offer to a firm in form of opinions and feedback. Companies can be able to formulate effective business strategies, which can be used to position their services within their target markets. The human factor during service interactions is critical in influencing consumer behaviour and attitudes toward a particular service. Customers associate the behaviour of the employees of a firm to the product itself and this creates a bias in the way they perceive the company as well as its commodities. Positive customer care initiatives by employees can make the clients regard the service as reliable and worth his or her money (Rogelberg, Barnes-Farrell, Creamer 1999, p. 425). Negative attitudes regarding the employees of a firm by the customers are likely to affect the perceptions they have of that service. Employees who are in direct contact with customers need to set priorities regarding the best way customersââ¬â¢ expectations can be achieved by the service being offered to them. The firm should understand the services it offers and the way it can make them stand out in the market. The firm should have a unique aspect in its offering, which makes its service resonate well with the expectations of its target customers (Rogelberg, Barnes-Farrell, Creamer 1999, p. 429). A business enterprise must identify the profile of its clients in terms of age, economic status, cultural background and gender, to understand their behaviour and attitudes toward the service it offers.Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More This helps the firm to structure the attributes of its product by considering the behaviour and attitudes of the consumers. In this way, a firm is able to generate suitable marketing ideas that could assist it to improve the quality of services offered to its clients. Conclusion In conclusion, it is vital for a firm to understand the behaviour of its customers and their perceptions toward the services that it offers to them. This helps the firm to establish the necessary customer loyalty within the market it serves. An effective relationship between a firm and its clients helps a firm to evaluate the value its service has within a particular market. Organizational Justice and the Psychological Contract
Organizational Justice and the Psychological Contract Introduction An organization is made up of different groups of people who have come together so as to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. In the top management of any organization, there is always a Human Resource Manager/ Officer who is concerned about the welfare of the work force of the organization.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Organizational Justice and the Psychological Contract specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The Human Resource Manager should treat the employees in the right way so that they can feel part of the organizationââ¬â¢s family. Despite the fact that the employees might be competent in their work, good working environment and conditions are necessary for the success of the entire organization (Baldwin, 2006, p.2). Among the essential management tools when it comes to employees is justice. Justice in the organization therefore entails the way the employees comprehend the way t hey are treated by the organizational management in terms of task assignments, awarding of gifts and rewards, promotions and any other matters that affect the employeesââ¬â¢ welfare. On the other hand, psychological contract entails the anticipation achieved from the relationship between the employees and the employer. This occurs because both the employee and employer have different expectations and duties to perform as written down in their employment contract. Each of these principles is applicable and used in almost all organizations despite their size, location or any differing factors (Smithson, 2003, p.1). This essay is a case study on the application of both principles in an organization. Analysis of the Scenario It has come to the notice of the company that it is struggling to maintain itself as it is incurring extra costs yet not making adequate profits. In making a fast decision, the company decides to lay off some of the employees immediately. Such decisions are not w orth making especially when you look at the impact they bring to the people who have been laid off from work (Wellin, 2000, p.10). The first mistake this company made was to lay off the workers without a notice of sufficient time as required by the labor laws. It is important that any organization gives a minimum of thirty days notice before terminating the employment contract of any employee. The notice is of benefit to both the employer and employee as it gives the employer sufficient time to organize any payments to be made or find allocations for the position the dismissed employee was holding. At the same time the employee is also given adequate time to adjust psychologically the situation at hand and be able t face it without stress (Baldwin, 2006, p.2). If in any case an employee decides to resign from the job, then a notice of sufficient time is also required to be given to the employer.Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? Let's see if we can help yo u! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Another important issue during termination of an employment contract is the method/ medium of communication. In this case, the General Manager decided to send emails to all the employees and later handed over the dismissal letters to his secretary who delivered them to the redundant employees. This was not a good way of communicating as in the first incidence the sent emails obviously caused a lot of panic among the employees. Employees in such a state could not work efficiently hence a disadvantage to the company. The delivery of the envelopes to the employees to be redundant was also not a good way of communicating because this could bring shock on the individuals (Coetzee, 2005, p.12). Therefore, the best medium for communicating such matters is one that does not oppress the employees and prepares them psychologically in advance. Lastly, even after laying off the workers in such unacceptable manner, the company did n ot pay them any remuneration caused by the redundancy. It is a requirement that on top of the dues of an employee, there should be redundancy pay which serves as a reward for the damages caused as a result of the redundancy. The employees however, could not sue the company since the terms of payment in case of redundancy were not included in their employment contract. The senior managers did not present themselves during the laying off process for fear of being confronted by the angry employees due to their unfair treatment. This was not a good way of dealing with the process as it indicated how the company is not concerned about the welfare of their employees (Wellin, 2000, p.8). As a matter of fact, the senior managers should have been present and talked to the employees and maybe even invite a counselor to counsel those who were to be laid off. This would have been a good way of showing concern and treating the employees during this hard time of termination of their employment. C onclusion From the above discussion, it can be concluded that there should be organizational justice in the organization and that both the employees and employers should expect the best from this relationship (Coetzee, 2005, p.14). This company failed in its obligations and responsibility of good treatment to their employees hence oppressing them. Reference List Baldwin, S. (2006). Organizational Justice. When The Legends Die Essays - Ute People, Man Of The Family
When The Legends Die Essays - Ute People, Man Of The Family When The Legends Die This is the story of the life an Ute family, and in particular the way of their people. The story starts off with the father of the family, George Black Bull running for his life from the sheriff and Blue Elk, one of the old Ute men. He had shot a man named Frank No Deer, he had killed him for stealing his money three times that he owed to a sawmill in Pagosa where he had worked with many other of his people, that he had saved for a long period of time. So George, his wife Bessie and son decided to live in the mountains, where they would live the old way, singing songs for different occasions, fishing and hunting with arrow instead of guns, and making use of the wilderness and all of it's resources. They built a cabin to live in, in a location where George would not be found and put in jail for his crime, they caught their meals, sewed their clothes and lived life and taught their son the way it had been lived by many generations of their people in the past, until one da! y George was crushed by an avalanche while hunting in a valley. Bessie new now that their son had become the man of the family, and would be responsible for many of the tasks that needed to be done in order to survive, it was also time for him to pick a name, he chose the name Bear's Brother. Every once and a while they went to the village to trade for items that they could not make, but after a short period of time Bessie became very ill and died. Bear's Brother had learned the ways and was now capable of taking care of himself, he continued to live life the old way. One day he journeyed to town to trade items, he told what had happened to his parents and that he was living alone with a bear, but Blue Elk thought that he should not be living this way and that he should be in school and living the way of the present. Blue Elk followed Bear's Brother to his cabin and they talked for many hours, Bear's Brother re-taught Blue Elk the old ways and talked with Bear's Brother f! or many hours, and finally convinced him to come to town with him and remind his people of these old ways. I personally like the setting of the wilderness in this book. I enjoy reading and learning the ways that native people lived their lives in the wilderness even if it is fiction and not fact. The setting is very detailed, believable and has enough but not too much description. "She cried out once in horror, and the boy heard and came and stood beside her, watching, as the snow plume floated all the way down the slope and the thunder of the slide echoed into the silence," is a phrase that I found particularly enjoyable and descriptive. I like the way that the author has not introduced too many characters at once and has limited the number of characters that are of relevance during certain periods of the book. I find it is very annoying when a book has many important characters all at one point or section of the book, instead Hal Borland introduces characters at various stages of the book, and now that Bear's Brother's parents have died I'm sure a few more characters will be introduced. I like Blue Elks character because he's mysterious and seems to show up every once and a while in the book, he seems to be everyone's friend. For example, when Bear's Brother's bear is attacking dogs in the village, he shows up for no apparent reason. There's not too much suspense in this book, but I think it's mainly because there's no need for suspense in this style of book. A not so obvious example of foreshadowing would be right after George fights Frank No Deer for stealing his money. After he has fought he checks his pocket to see if his money is still there, and of course it's gone. The author wouldn't have

Measure understand and knowing of cloud computing services Essay
Measure understand and knowing of cloud computing services - Essay Example It also makes the routine computation works, far easier so, undoubtedly cloud computing can be a constructive support for organizations. This report will discuss in detail about the basic concepts of cloud computing, different types of cloud computing services, cloud computing service providers, advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing. Cloud computing is an internet based computing technology that involves a large number of collective resources. The term ââ¬Ëcloudââ¬â¢ refers to the internet. Instead of relying on a single personal computer or a local server for their applications like data processing, storage, and others, organizations can make use of the cloud computing services that involves a number of remote servers for this purpose (Beal, n. d.). Also applications can be accomplished more efficiently using cloud computing rather than using conventional personal devices (Gordon and Marchesini, 2010).The purpose of cloud computing is to have abundant and easier access to the internet so that, retrieval and working on data is possible from anywhere across the world (Gordon and Marchesini, 2010).The services offered by cloud computing service providers can be broadly classified into three categories. They are software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (Paas), and Infrastructure as a service (Iaas) . Let us see in detail about all the above mentioned types with real examples for each type. Software as a service (SaaS) render web services to the clients who access the applications that are accomplished by third party vendors through the interface provided by them. Special installations or downloads are not required for this purpose and applications can be run using the web browsers directly (ââ¬Å"Understanding the cloud,â⬠2013). SaaS exhibits certain characteristics which are discussed further. SaaS offer access to commercial software through the web.

Course project week 1 - Assignment Example The fracturing process involving pumping of fluids usually made up of chemicals and water, into structures at high pressure. Following a buildup of pressure that ultimately exceeds the strength of the rock, fracture occur, which might extend hundreds of feet away from the situation of the well. A propping agent is then pumped into the fractures to keep it open, as pumping pressure is freed (Hydraulic fracturing, 1990). At the end of the fracturing, the inner pressure within the geologic structure makes the injected fracturing liquid to rise above the surface for storage in pits or tanks to await disposal or recycling. In the United States, this process is currently underway in the Marcellus Shale region that takes in places like Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Virginia Maryland, and West Virginia. South America also has fracturing going on in places that include Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina while in Europe fracturing goes on in Britain between Blackpool and Pendle Hil, in Lancashire. Despite much criticism, hydraulic fracturing has affected the economy in a number of positive ways. This includes the Creation of employment opportunities for many Citizens, generation of income for the many employees working in this sector, increasing the states revenues both directly and indirectly (Karapataki, 2012). In addition, the fracturing process has increased economic activities in certain places thus improving tax Revenue of the concerned Local Government. United Arab Emirates Foreign Investment Regulations Essay Example for Free
United Arab Emirates Foreign Investment Regulations Essay Introduction The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a combination of seven countries and was formed the year 1971 immediately after the British withdrew from Gulf war. It has been known as the major exporter of petroleum in the world. In order to reduce over reliance on petroleum the national government has been trying to encourage the foreign investment in Information and communication technology sectors. However various regulatory frameworks have been enacted by the national government to increase investment in the region. The national government assigns duties to federal government explaining how information and communication technologies are set up by foreign companies. Kuwait and United Arab Emirates have been recognized as centres where sophisticated technologies are found in the Middle East because of the policy of being a free trade zone. à à à In order to have a competitive ability or advantage in the world market the countries have established a foreign investment regulatory framework to enable them fit well in the information and communication technology market. The investment in ICT has been encouraged to avoid full reliance on petroleum as source of revenue to the national government. The regulatory framework has stimulated the growth of different business ranging from global ,regional to local small and medium Enterprises(SMEs).There have been laws governing the ICT ,foreign direct investment and technology transfer in the countries making them to enjoy competitive advantage in the business environment1 . à A good example of a regulatory law governing foreign investors is the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).The law was established in the year 2003 to ensure that there is adequacy in the distribution of telecommunication services in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait Land. The services to be provided should encompass quality and other elements that bring substantial development to the communication sector. The Telecommunication Regulatory Authority also issue new licenses to the operational Data Services providers (DSPs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).The new licenses issued by the TRA is aimed at ensuring development of the Telecommunication sector. à The other role played by the TRA in order to attract and protect young investors in the countries is inviting telecommunication engineering firms to submit their proposals on technical and financial evaluation so that they can help in taking the responsibilities in operating the telecommunications technical office. The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority therefore has contributed a lot in attracting foreign investors to develop the ICT firms due to low growth of information and communication technology firm in both United Arab Emirates states and Kuwait2.. à à à The other Regulation enacted by the national government is the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority(NTRA).The NTRA has come up with a new tariff offer with an objective of promoting healthy competition between operators so that development in telecommunication field can be enhanced3 .For instance there has been a contractual or agreement modelà of interconnection that makes it easy for an operator to buy a capacity of interconnection for a fixed tariff .This has been enacted to bring a substantial development in the countries. Conclusion. The slow development in Information and Communication Technology sector in UAE and Kuwait called for enactment of various foreign investments regulations to enhance growth in the sector. The foreign investors in the communication field have been encouraged to invest so as to make the states have competitive advantage in the global market. It also aims at reducing full dependence on petroleum as the only source of revenue to the national and federal governments.
